NEET PG Counselling 2024 Schedule: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the schedule for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or NEET PG 2024 counseling process.
Candidates who have successfully cleared NEET PG 2024 can now register for counseling to secure a seat in postgraduate medical programs across India. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released key dates and instructions for each stage of the counseling process.

Key Dates for NEET PG 2024 Counseling
- Registration & Fee Payment: 20 September 2024 – 17 November 2024
- Choice Filling & Choice Locking: 08 – 17 November 2024

Eligibility Criteria for NEET PG 2024 Counseling
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized institution and have cleared NEET PG 2024.
- Internship Completion: Candidates must have completed a one-year internship and be registered with the Medical Counselling Committee.
Registration Fees
To participate in the NEET PG 2024 counseling for MD or MS programs in the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) and Central Universities, candidates must pay the following non-refundable fees:
- General (UR) / OBC: ₹1,000
- SC/ST/PWD: ₹500
Additionally, a refundable security deposit is required:
- General (UR): ₹25,000
- SC/ST/PWD: ₹10,000
NEET PG 2024 Cut-Off Marks
The MCC will release the official cut-off marks required for participation. Expected cut-off marks are as follows:
- UR/OBC: 290 – 295
- SC/ST/PWD: 255 – 260
Candidates must achieve at least the 50th percentile for Unreserved/OBC categories and the 40th percentile for SC/ST/PWD categories to qualify for counseling.
NEET PG 2024 Seat Allotment Process
- Seat Allotment Result: After choice filling and seat allotment processing, the MCC will publish the seat allotment result on mcc.nic.in on 20 November 2024. Candidates can log in to view their allotment status.
- Post-Allotment Options:
- Accept and Report: If satisfied with the allotted college, candidates should download their allotment letter and report to the college for admission confirmation.
- Accept with Betterment Option: Candidates can secure admission in the allotted college while also opting for betterment in the next counseling round.
- Exit: If dissatisfied, candidates may exit the counseling process without taking admission.
- Second Round Participation: Those interested in the second counseling round do not need to register or pay again. They can proceed directly to choice filling and choice locking.
